Couldn’t be happier.

I trust myself to drive finally, I am down to two hydrocodones a day. The pain in my side is almost gone, the pain in my back is almost gone, I don’t hack up any more blood.

One of the miracles on my recovery from lung surgery is this. My lung was very very sore for two weeks and in those two weeks, not once did the thing I most dread happen.

I didn’t sneeze once.

I sneezed for the first time yesterday and it was a normal sneeze, it didn’t absolutely explode my lung like it could have before. What luck.

I have been back at work on the air for two days and I feel shaky and nervous still from pills and anesthesia, but you could probably never tell it on the air…what a dumbass I am, I was talking yesterday on the air about how exciting it would be when David Gilmour finally joined Roger Waters on stage in England for the version of Comfortably Numb and that it could happen this month and the phones lit up and I knew what that meant.

It happened while I was heavily doped up on the couch at home.

Might take a few to get back in touch. Able to perform, but I am not of sound state just yet. I will meet Mr. Hiruta tomorrow morning for a round of golf, let’s see how that goes, I had asked off for Monday because my tee time for the tournament at Duke was 12:40 and you should have seen the look on the program director’s face.

You can only try right? Okay I will miss that tournament, but it’s a long summer, plenty more coming up.
